Why I quit to be an engineer

Make no mistakes, I am not quiting yet as an Engineer. But why does there seems to be an exodus of Engineers from the field. The reasons often cited are very similiar. Long working hours, mad rush for engineering datelines, relatively poor compensation compared to other professional sectors. Strikingly, there are quite a number of enginners who feel the compensation is not enough for the effort and sacrifice given. Not everyone have the mettle to be a good engineer. But sadly, those who possess it do eventually gets dejected. Unless, a Engineer moves out of the technical path, how many can endure the inhuman hrs for the fight to be the first to market for every new product market.
Interesting insides below which every local Engineer can relate to, except the well paying part. Well, American Engineers are know to be well paid... But all other risks stands and are similiar anywhere in the world.
